“Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited.”
I love this quote by Dr Suzuki, the founder of the Suzuki method of learning music for children.
This year we have been very lucky in Kadina to have Jennifer Tingley, a professional Cello player with an impressive resume, move to our local area and teach Baby and Toddler Music classes.
We have completed three terms of group music class and my little girl has now graduated with excellent musical timing (Proud mummy moment much?!)
Learning music by the Suzuki method is fun for both the kids and the care givers present. Within the one hour lesson there is drumming, glockenspiel, wood block and mallet, movement, dance, story time and much more.
You can call Jenny on 0419 962 968 or check out the South Australian website for more information.
Jenny offers small group classes for 0-3year olds on Monday and Tuesday mornings in Kadina at the Anglican Church and also teaches private cello lessons.
