I am buggered. I am not exactly sure why but I just want to sleep...and complain.
I'm pretty sure you don't read my blog to hear me complain so I'll reserve that for my loved ones and dearest friends, ha, and just share a few pictures today.
Below is a doodle of my nature craving earlier in the week. Thankfully, I found some time to rest alone in nature and I will continue to make time for this vital practice for my own health and healing....meditation under trees, a walk on the beach, a lie on the lawn....whatever I need for grounding, peace and connection.
A little experiment with watercolour and ink.
This is Shimmer, our goldfish.
Shimmer likes to be part of the group (of 4) but she would never admit it. She enjoys throwing a witty or sarcastic comment to the others when required, particularly Orion.
This is Tiny Panther. He is gorgeous. He looks big here but he is not, he is sweet and placid and tiny. He is the baby of the crew and he knows his place. He doesn't bother jostling the other 3 for food on the surface of the water, he calmly swims to the bottom and catches the flakes floating down.
I couldn't get a decent photo of the other two fish, I will try another day.
Last but not least, this is our 4 1/2 year old cat, Sammie. He is beautiful. This photo was taken earlier this week before school. He is really sleepy and snuggly on the cold mornings.
Don't mind his scraggly fluro and pink ribbon. He is a MASTER hunter of birds and the best thing I have found to protect them is to ensure Sammie wears some bright colour around his collar.
The birds see the fluro yellow before they hear his bells or see him pounce.
We only get the very odd casualty now compared to some atrocious statistics in the past and it's usually only when the ribbon has faded a little too much.
You can read a study about cat's wearing bright colours to protect wildlife here. :-)
Interestingly enough, mice apparently don't see the colours so he still gets to have fun with them, not that there are many at the moment.
Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend. My soundtrack is chilled covers from Tyler Ward.
