I had a little list of things I wanted to do this year and seeing we are nearly in November, I thought I would take another look.
These, and a couple of others, are unticked as yet...
Go rollerskating - I know there is a Roller Disco in Gawler 1 1/2 hours drive away at Gawler Rec centre or I could buy skates and do it locally or even go and watch the Copper Coast Roller Derby group practice to get me motivated?
Whatever I choose, I better get my skates on!
Pamela over at Zesty Mom did :-)
Learn piano - Still going but I have reached a stage where I cannot progress any further until I sit down and do some more theory.
Find some clothes that suit me - I did a huge clean out of clothes earlier this year that I didn't like or didn't look good but replacing these clothes is proving difficult. Body shape, things I actually like, style (not so much what is 'on trend' but more what will look half decent), budget, availability in a regional area/success at online shopping etc. I'll keep trying but in the mean time I have a handful of outfits I love and a few that are 'ok' for now. *sigh* First world problems, I know.
Start a band and perform - Singing with a couple of friends has been loads of fun and something for me to enjoy outside of my parenting role this year. Our first performance is for kids in Kadina on November 16th and I will look into performing adult stuff next year.
Bush dancing: I love bush dancing but there have been no dances around here that I know of. Unless I'm going to organise one myself, which is not totally out of the question in the future I suppose, this one will need to stay on the list for now.
Plant some more trees: Gardening is one of my least favourite things to do, despite enjoying the beauty of them. I am making slow progress here. I'd like to get some more trees in before Christmas though, the sooner they are in, the sooner they will grow big and shady.
Complete 2010/2011 photo album : I am making slow, very slow, progress here but I'd prefer not to start 2014 with this one incomplete. We'll see :-)
Ride a horse - There was a large horse at the Gladstone Fair that I attended last month but I felt busy and stressed by the time we got around to the horse area and so did my daughter. Maybe this was just an excuse. Anyhow, this goal can stay on the list for as long as it needs to. I'm thinking it probably needs to be in a semi-private area also, not at a fair. Me + Riding horses = Scary.
I did pat a baby alpaca.
What about you?
Is there anything you would like to experience before the year is up?
